The report is evidence of advocacy by the Cameroon NCD Alliance and the Africa NCDs Network whose secretariats are hosted in Cameroon by the Reconciliation and Development Association (RADA), and details an advocacy visit to the Permanent Mission of Cameroon to the United Nations in New York by Mr Mbydzenyuy Ferdinant Sonyuy, President of RADA, Secretary General of the Cameroon NCD Alliance and Chair of the Secretariat of the Africa NCDs Network. The visit was part of the NCD Alliance’s Advocacy Institutes’ Accelerator Program Workshop, aimed at strengthening advocacy efforts for universal health coverage (UHC) in the lead-up to the 2023 UN High-Level Meeting on UHC. The meeting with the Permanent Mission was attended by H.E Nyanid Zacharie Serge Raoul, Minister Counselor. Key discussions included the role of NGOs in government engagement and Permanent Mission engagements with the High Level Political Declaration with Cameroon’s inputs, and the process of continued engagement with the Permanent Mission and the Ministry of Health for the national representation in global health interactions at the level global advocacy and its alignment with national priorities.
